Have you heard about the KC Pet Project event, FurLough?
It’s an extra special opportunity for 50 canine homeless pups to have their day(s) in the sun. Or, as KCPP (the largest no-kill open admission shelter in the Midwest) more delicately explains it,
“On the weekend of September 11, 2015, 50 dogs will be sent on Furlough to 50 pre-screened homes to enjoy a weekend on the outside. They will go on walks, play ball, snuggle on the couch- whatever their little hearts desire! For that weekend, the dogs get to experience what it means to be part of a family, and families get a free test drive with a dog that may end up in their forever home. Each dog will be sponsored for either a one-day or two-day Furlough. This covers all costs for the family, including a waived adoption fee, should they keep their dog. It also raises money for KC Pet Project, the largest No-Kill, open admission shelter in the Midwest.”
At the Barkery, we are dedicated to projects such as these, and are participating in two fold:
1) The Brookside Barkery team will host a lovable pup on Saturday, September 12. The lucky dog will receive VIP treatment all day long at Barkery! But in order to do this, we need your help! If you are able, please consider donating to the FurLough project by clicking here now. No matter if you donate $10, $50 or even $1 – everything counts toward helping homeless dogs enjoy their “free pass.”
2) The Barkery is also honored to donate a bag of Fromm natural dog food to each of the 50 participants of FurLough.
Thank you in advance for learning more about FurLough – we hope you can help us make it a huge success!
