It is not endowed or supported by local, state or federal funds, or national humane organizations. It is financially supported primarily from memberships, bequests, the pet cemetery, adoptions and gifts from the public, businesses and foundations.

 

[title size=”2″]The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City[/title]  As one of the first and oldest no-kill shelters, The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City celebrates 100 years of faithful service to the lost, abandoned, and broken pets of the Greater Kansas City area. Their mission is to save and improve the lives of dogs and cats throughout the Greater Kansas City community by providing education, adoptions, preventive veterinary care and spay/neuter services.

 

[title size=”2″]Great Plains SPCA[/title]  Great Plains SPCA was formed through the merger of two lifesaving organizations in June 2011 – Animal Haven and No More Homeless Pets KC.  At Great Plains SPCA, they believe that no matter what their size, shape or story, all dogs and cats deserve the chance to live long, happy and healthy lives. That’s why their team of experts works hard every day to be a lifeline to a better future for pets by providing comprehensive, affordable medical care, adoption services and innovative community programs.

 

[title size=”2″]KC Pet Project[/title] The former Kansas City municipal animal shelter is now under new management, and is ALSO now a no-kill shelter!  With three locations in Kansas City (the Missouri Animal Shelter on Raytown Rd., in the Zona Rosa shopping center, and inside Petco in Overland Park), they’re a rapidly-growing shelter and adoption organization with lots of great new friends for you and your family!
