Each year, Brookside Barkery holds a holiday fundraiser in hopes of changing the lives of Kansas City metro area pets in need. With the help of our customers, we were able to donate 4 tons of food to a rescue group that’s near and dear to our hearts, Chain of Hope. This year, we hope to exceed last year’s donation and buy 5 tons of pet food for Chain of Hope!

About Chain of Hope

The heroes at Chain of Hope venture into Kansas City’s most blighted neighborhoods, looking for animals who’ve been ignored, neglected, or mistreated. In addition to saving abandoned animals, this organization educates uninformed pet owners, and provides survival supplies for animals in need.

  • Chain of Hope gives away over 1000 pounds of pet food alone per week to struggling pet owners.
  • They spend thousands of dollars every week on medical care for pets in need.
  • Chain of Hope receives 30+ calls a day reporting an animal in need, and sometimes those calls come too late.

Chain of Hope volunteers see so much cruelty and neglect within the urban core of Kansas City. Yet, they continue to improve the lives of animals with the same goal in mind: break the chain of ignorance, break the chain of suffering, and break the chain of unwanted litters.
