Last fall I was walking my shelter dog, Lucie, through my neighborhood. We came up to this house where it appeared that a little boy on a tricycle was running over something by a tree. As I got closer I realized that it was a tiny PUPPY that he was squishing! The puppy was chained to the tree and wrapped around and around the trunk so she couldn’t move. I told him not to hurt the dog and the stinker DID IT AGAIN! So I went and knocked on the front door. Long story short – they were sick of the 8 week old chocolate lab puppy that was ‘not potty trained’ and ‘chewed on everything’. I took her with me knowing I would be able to find her cute little self a great home. But Lucie and I fell in love. I named her Ellie. And a chewer she is. She would shred every ‘heavy duty’ toy I found within minutes. One day I walked into the Barkery and discovered West Paw Design Indestructible Toys. I bought a Hurley and a Tux with fingers crossed. And sure enough – they are the only toys left standing to this day. Thanks to Santa Clause we also have a Bumi. Ellie loves them! Thank you Brookside Barkery for carrying such fantastic toys!
